Recently, INEOS announced that they have raised an exceptional €3.5 billion in funding for Project ONE in Antwerp. Here, INEOS is building a new cracker that will use low-carbon hydrogen. This will give the cracker the lowest carbon footprint of any European cracker. With the costs of €4 billion, it is the largest investment in the chemical industry in 25 years.

Project ONE will bring many changes in terms of sustainability in the chemical sector in Europe and it offers opportunities for the chemical cluster in Antwerp. The new cracker is expected to start up in 2026. During construction, up to 2,500 people will be on site at the busiest times. After that, the cracker will provide 450 new jobs.
